Are heels really necessary for pole exotic dance class?

When you come to your first class, it’s perfectly fine to start in socks - it’s comfortable and helps you ease into the process. But I always recommend trying heels from the very first lesson. Here’s why.
Pole Exotic truly comes alive in heels.
For me, Pole Exotic is not just pole dancing. It’s a style where the shoes play a huge role. In heels, you feel the full aesthetics, flow and character of this dance style.
Heels make movements smoother and more feminine.
A high platform elongates your lines, helps you “reach” every movement, and adds a graceful accent to each step.
Posture changes immediately - even for beginners.
Heels engage the muscles of your legs and core, so your body naturally aligns differently - straighter, more elegant and more confident.
Many Pole Exotic elements are designed specifically for heels.
Heelwork, turns, slides - all of these are easier, more beautiful, and safer to perform in proper shoes.
You start to feel your feet better.
A high heel helps you sense your balance, weight distribution, and movement direction. This accelerates progress and improves the quality of your technique.
What about the first class?
I provide shoes for free at your first lesson - just send me your size. You can also rent heels at the studio or purchase your own pair in our online store at polespace.ee
Summary
Starting in socks is completely fine. But if you want to truly experience the aesthetics of Pole Exotic and develop your technique faster, try heels from the very start. It changes everything.
