Do You Need Any Physical Training Before Starting Pole Dance?

I often hear things like:
“I’ll go to the gym first, lose some weight, get stronger - then I’ll be ready to start pole dancing. Right now I’m too weak/skinny-fat/have a belly/etc…”
And my answer is always the same: You don’t need any prior physical preparation. At all.
Why is it okay to start pole dance from zero?
Pole Dance isn’t a sport where people arrive “already prepared.” It’s a practice where you become stronger, more flexible and more confident. During classes, I structure training in a way that helps you:
- gradually build strength,
- gently improve flexibility,
- develop coordination,
- activate exactly the muscles and movement patterns needed for pole work.
It’s a natural and safe way to start - especially if you’ve never done any sport before.
What will you feel after your first class?
Many are surprised by how differently they feel their body after just one session. Not because “it was too hard,” but because the body starts to wake up, activate, respond. You’ll feel muscles you didn’t even know you had - and that’s absolutely normal.
If you have injuries or health concerns
Safety is extremely important to me. Please let me know about any injuries, surgeries, or limitations - I will adapt the exercises, offer alternatives, and make sure the load feels comfortable.
And the most important part
Don’t wait for the “right moment,” the “perfect shape” or a certain level of fitness. You don’t come to pole ready - you become strong, flexible and confident through practice.
If you’ve wanted to try but hesitated - come to your first trial training. I’ll help you start gently, safely and with pleasure.
Your body can handle it. And I’ll make sure you’re supported.
With care,
